Raised on hip-hop and in and out of foster homes, rebellious and defiant city kid Ricky gets a fresh start in the New Zealand countryside. He quickly finds himself at home with a new foster family; the loving Aunt Bella, cantankerous Uncle Hec and dog, Tupac. When a tragedy strikes that threatens to move Ricky to yet another home, he goes on the run with his gruff guardian, Hec. A national manhunt ensues and the newly branded outlaws must face their options. They can go out in a blaze of glory or overcome their differences and survive as a family. Hilarious and touching, Taika Waititi’s new film is also a rousing adventure story with brilliant comedic chemistry between the lead actors.
