Set in the Moroccan town of Salé, The Blue Caftan follows Mina and her husband Halim, who run a small shop selling traditional caftans in one of the country’s oldest medinas. In order to keep up with demand, they hire a talented young man as an apprentice. Slowly Mina realises how much her husband is moved by his presence in this emotionally complex and tender depiction of a relationship.
