This gripping thriller uses a clever time-shifting technique to keep the audience wondering right until the end just how the events of the past might come to revisit themselves upon the present. The story focuses on a Mossad mission in 1966, when three agents tracked down a Nazi war criminal in East Berlin. In 1997, now-retired agents Rachel (Helen Mirren) and Stephan (Tom Wilkinson) receive shocking news about their erstwhile colleague David (Ciaran Hinds).
The suspense builds in both time periods as the Nazi-hunt thriller metamorphoses into a more thoughtful study on conscience and revenge.
