1985, two young British climbers Joe Simpson and Simon Yates became the first people to climb the west face of the 21,000 foot Siula Grande peak in the Peruvian Andes. On their descent Joe breaks his leg. An attempt to lower Joe down the mountain goes badly wrong and Simon is forced to cut Joe’s line to prevent them both falling to their doom. Joe falls and Simon, believing him to be dead, carries on the base camp. However, Joe is not dead. This is the miraculous true story of how he crawled his way to survival.
