This is a telling comedy about the scams, laughs and dangers of working on a London building site. A mixed bunch of Irishmen, West Indians and Scousers tear apart a closed down hospital ready for its conversion into apartments for the rich. Stevie, a Scottish teenager and ex-con, played by Robert Carlyle, breaks into abandoned buildings in order to find a place to sleep and pursues a romance with would-be singer, Susan. As time progresses the company’s wanton disregard for safety standards brings conflict.
