William Francome was born on the 9th of December 1981 in London during a snow storm. At almost exactly the same time a Police officer was shot dead in Philadelphia. A prominent political activist and journalist was arrested at the same time. This man, Mumua Abu-Jamal, was convicted of the murder and sentenced to death in a trial criticised for its errors. There is a lot of controversy surrounding America’s most famous death row inmate. Francome and Evan’s documentary is a journey to discover what might have happened that night and to examine the political turmoil that surrounds the case.
