A thousand years ago ten Aboriginal men headed out into the swamp to find goose eggs. One of the men is Dayindi who covets one of the wives of his elder brother. He is told a story to teach him about correct conduct. The story is from a mystical past in the time of their ancestors. It tells of misguided love, sorcery, revenge and 150 spears. Ten canoes is a spiritual journey into distant times that is both tragic and funny. It is set in the remote Arafura Swamp and is in the Ganalbingu language wit English subtitles.
